There’s something about Rural Real Estate- The people involved see it as more than a job.

We love getting feedback and emails from others in the industry. Many of them feel as we do, the love of the land and outdoors. If it’s hunting/fishing, farming, ranching, investing, or just over all enjoying the land we all have the same thing in common.

“The Hill Country is so much more than just a special place to me, my family came to the Hill Country in the early 1840’s and I was born and raised here. I also feel so blessed due to the fact that I am in Llano county which of course, in my opinion, has more of nature’s unique highlights, beauty and history than any other Hill Country county. We are on the “Llano Uplift” which basically means that we sit atop a huge granite rock. “Enchanted Rock” is in Llano county, the “Llano River”, the “Colorado River/Highland Lakes(built in the 30’s)” and multitudes of other unique natural phenomenon’s.

Mike Virdell, my Dad, has been in the Real Estate business for over 33 years and he told me that he has never seen properties “fly off the shelf” and continually “skyrocket” in value as he has seen over the last 3 years. I am on the Llano City Council and have heard rumors of a 1700 ac. property selling for as much as $45,000-$50,000 per acre, in the SE part of the county. We have sold smaller ranches in the $5,000-$10,000 p.a. range. We can’t keep anything in our inventory, although there are a few of those sleepers that have not sold the way they should, but certainly, their time is coming.

The Llano river is something that we all could use a lot more of, with it’s crystal clear waters, huge granite outcroppings, big tumbling rapids and serene pools, it is truly a blessing from the Lord. But try and find something on it for sale and you’ll find real quick that there aren’t any deals unless you are the seller. The folks are willing to pay the prices, no matter how outrageous.”

That is one of the most beautiful areas of Texas so I am not surprised the real estate market is so hot. And I defiitely with your opinion on rural real estate. Best of luck to you!
